ARTIST'S STATEMENT

" 'Out of Place…Out of Time' is based on the idea that there are things in this world that do not seem to belong. They are broken down factories in Southern California subdivisions; they are liminal spaces in long-abandoned theatres; they are enigmatic structures near futuristic machinery at a fish hatchery in Northern Arizona; they are chaotic, outdated oil wells in the hills above Orange County. I have always been captivated and drawn to these kinds of mysterious objects and spaces that we might ordinarily ignore or pass by. Some evoke within me a sense of wonder and hope for a future less reliant on industrialized structures, while others evoke uneasiness, anxiety and fear for what’s to come. ..."
